Station Description
Home Radio Manila, identified by the call sign DWQZ, is known for its easy-listening and soft adult contemporary music. Its sound centers on familiar, relaxing songs that provide a comfortable companion for working, commuting, or unwinding at home.
The station began test broadcasts on September 28, 1994, under the name Q97. Its early programming established the easy-listening identity that became closely associated with Home Radio. As its audience grew, the format expanded to provincial stations, extending the brand beyond Metro Manila.
Home Radio explored several formats over the years. In March 2014, it adopted a broader entertainment approach under the “Natural!” branding. It shifted toward contemporary hits and OPM in 2015 before returning to its signature soft adult contemporary format on June 30, 2017. This return restored the mellow musical character familiar to its longtime listeners.
Automation has also been part of the station’s history. In 2006, Home Radio introduced DJ Jackie, an automated presentation voiced by Lannie Chan. Live presenters subsequently joined its lineup, developing a style that combined music with light conversation.
A significant programming change arrived in May 2026, when Home Radio shifted to an all-music format following the departure of its live DJs. Earlier presenter-led offerings included Midday Classics, associated with DJ Chris and featuring songs from the 1970s and 1980s. The current format places automated music programming at the center of the listening experience, as confirmed by Aliw Broadcasting’s official company profile.
Its current programming is therefore best described through its music selection rather than a roster of live-hosted shows. Sentimental favorites, mellow songs, and familiar melodies reflect the station’s continuing emphasis on comfort and nostalgia. Listeners can follow its official announcements for any changes to music blocks or special programming.
Home Radio’s regional presence also expanded again in May 2026, when Aliw’s provincial DWIZ News FM stations relaunched under the Home Radio network.
