Energy FM Manila

Energy FM Manila, identified by the call sign DWET-FM, combines popular music and OPM with humor, listener stories, and relationship discussions. Its Filipino-language programming serves audiences across Mega Manila and surrounding areas.

Energy FM originally broadcast in Manila on 91.5 FM, beginning in 2003. It left that frequency in June 2011 and returned on 106.7 FM on July 1, 2011, with its regular programs and presenters following on July 4. The move brought Energy FM to the frequency previously occupied by Dream FM, which had featured smooth jazz, R&B, soul, and other mellow selections. Earlier identities on 106.7 included Kool 106 and Rio 106.7.

A notable chapter began on March 20, 2017, when John Gemperle, previously known as Papa Jack at Love Radio, joined Energy FM. He initially used the name Papa J before becoming Papa Jackson. His program Hello… STG—Sorry, Thank You and Goodbye continued his familiar approach to conversations about love, relationships, and personal struggles. He also worked with Kuya Chico and DJ Kara in programs that combined advice with humor and on-air interaction.

Papa Jackson’s contribution extended beyond presenting. He became Energy FM’s station manager in 2018, taking on a leadership role alongside his broadcasting work. Coverage of his career credits his management period with revitalizing the station’s identity and strengthening its listenership. He served in the position until October 2025, then continued as a regular DJ before departing Energy FM in January 2026, concluding nearly nine years with the station. His management stint and his later departure as a presenter were separate milestones.

Recent broadcasts on the station’s official page feature Energy sa Umaga, Energy Lovelines, and Energy sa Gabi. DJ Sheena presents morning programming and Energy Lovelines, while Kuya A is featured on the evening show. These offerings continue the station’s mix of music and presenter-led conversation.
