Raqi Terra: The Voice Behind Love Radio’s Secret Files

On 90.7 Love Radio Manila, Raqi Terra gives listeners a place to hear stories about love, difficult choices, and the secrets people carry. Known to the station’s audience as the “Basa Princess,” she hosts Secret Files and Top Secrets, bringing personal confessions into the daily mix of music and conversation.

Behind the radio name is Jessey Anne Guiam, a Mass Communication graduate of St. Paul University Manila whose early creative life revolved around theatre. She performed in and directed productions with Tanghalang St. Paul, the university’s theatre organization, and served as its president during the 2011–2012 academic year. Her university publication also recorded that she received a performing arts award at graduation.

Radio was an opportunity she had not originally expected. After an internship at Love Radio, she returned to apply for work and became a production assistant. About a month later, she was offered the 3:00–6:00 a.m. slot. The name Raqi Terra followed as she developed her on-air identity. By the time The Paulinian interviewed her in 2014, she had moved to the 6:00–9:00 p.m. shift alongside Lyka Barista, with segments including Tarantanong and Fact Fake.

That early interview reveals a broadcaster concerned with the purpose of her work. She described educating, entertaining, and offering advice as goals, while emphasizing that being part of a successful station still required effort and improvement.

Those priorities provide a useful way to understand the format she would become associated with. In Raqi’s Secret Files, letters addressed to the host introduce personal experiences under assumed names. The station’s published stories deal with relationships, dishonesty, desire, and the consequences of decisions made in private. Raqi serves as the voice through which these accounts reach the audience, placing the storyteller’s experience at the center of the segment.

Top Secrets explores similarly complicated territory. Its published episodes include accounts of unresolved feelings, troubled relationships, and choices that continue to affect people years later. Together, the two programs turn private dilemmas into subjects for public listening and discussion. They also establish Raqi as the host audiences associate with the unfolding story.

The programs have also found an audience beyond a scheduled FM broadcast. In its announcement about Spotify Wrapped 2024, MBC Media Group reported that Raqi Secret Files had been recognized as the Philippines’ Top New Solo Podcast of the Year. The recognition marked a concrete milestone for a radio personality whose storytelling could now reach listeners through on-demand audio.

Her broadcasting work received another distinction in 2024, when she was named Remarkable Local Radio Broadcaster at the ASEAN Excellence Awards. Love Radio reported the recognition alongside an award for fellow station personality Nicole Hyala.

Raqi has also taken her performance experience outside the radio booth. In February 2025, DZRH reported on her appearance in a commercial alongside actress and comedian Melai Cantiveros. The project added a screen appearance to a career rooted in voice and live presentation.

A new chapter in her personal life brought a temporary pause in broadcasting. In March 2026, DZRH reported her return to Love Radio after maternity leave following the birth of her son.

As of October 2026, Love Radio’s official DJ page lists Raqi’s Secret Files and Top Secrets from noon to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with Flashback from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sundays. Her work now spans FM radio, online video, and podcasts—a career in which the performance skills she developed onstage continue to meet the personal stories people choose to share.
