Station Description
RJFM 100.3 Manila blends familiar classics with newer releases, offering a music selection that spans several decades. A signature feature is its three-songs-in-a-row presentation, which places music at the center of the listening experience. It serves as the flagship FM station of the broadcasting group founded by musician and businessman Ramon “RJ” Jacinto.
The station’s FM history began in 1973, when its predecessor, DZUW, moved from AM to 100.3 MHz. In 1980, it became Wink FM, using the call sign DWNK and featuring an all-female DJ lineup. Around 1986, it adopted the DZRJ call sign and took on the rock format previously associated with DZRJ’s AM station, which had become the news-and-talk service Radyo Bandido.
Further changes followed: Boss Radio introduced a classic-rock format in December 1995, while The Hive shifted toward alternative rock in June 1999. On May 6, 2001, the station returned to the RJFM name and adopted a variety-hits format. Initially automated, it introduced on-air presenters in May 2003. Its longstanding specialty features have included Beatles Anthology, a morning hour devoted to the music of The Beatles.
RJFM’s reach extends beyond Metro Manila through regional stations in cities including Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, and Baguio. Online streaming also allows listeners outside these broadcast areas to follow its music and programs, while television simulcasts give selected shows an additional audience through RJ DigiTV.
